My ho-hum life adventures as seen by me:
9 Once upon a time, the world became a better and much 4
2livelier place as I made my debut on 27 Feb 58 in ?
=Cobleskill, NY. My dad was attending college after his Army :
8stint. According to gospel (my mom), I became a little =
;depraved and a general nuisance due to my dad's insistence >
<on my basinet-bundled presence on numerous "panty raids ". =
;Talk about infant impressionism! Finally settled in Glens >
<Falls, NY after my dad transferred to the Eastern Air Lines
facility there.
< Unfortunately, when I was 9 and had 4 younger siblings, >
<my parents did the divorce thing and mom was working 3 jobs ;
9to support us. Good times/bad times and a lot-of-chores <
:times. She eventually remarried and we relocated 6 miles -
down the road to Ft. Edward, NY (pop 3100).
: Well, I grew up, played HS football/track/baseball to <
:pass the time when I wasn't chasing (sometimes catching!) =
;all those hip-hugging-bell-bottom wearing females. Ah, the
good ole days................
8 Anywhos, my mom died of cancer on 24 Dec 75. Worst :
8Christmas anyone could ever have. Seven kids by then. =
;Youngest was 4. I drank a lot for awhile... If not for my ?
=wonderful sister Bridgette, our family would have come apart ?
=at the seams. We, and I especially, owe her so much. My best
friend.......
8 Graduated in Jun 76 and promptly moved to Tampa, Fl =
;where my dad had gotten me a job at Eastern Air Lines as a <
:"ramp monkey". What the hell, it paid $5.50 an hour. In ?
=Oct 76 I realized my dad and I were too alike to be together <
:in the same house so I raised my right hand and Uncle Sam
owned me.
8 Over the course of 16 years, I've been stationed in ?
=Korea, El Paso, Seattle, Huntsville Al, Germany and a 45 day <
:"excursian to the Persian". Been married twice (military :
8service doesn't help), Have 3 children. One, Michael, I =
;haven't been able to locate in 9 years. Jeremy (7 and has ?
=the same B-day as me!) and Desiree (5). They are the apples <
:of my eye and never fail to always pick me up and keep me =
;going. The problem is getting their mother to comply with <
:the VERY liberal visitation rights. Kinda hard to enforce ,
since they are in Olympia, Wa.............
7 This past Oct I was a very happy and content Chief >
<Warrant Officer 2 in old El Paso when as the saying goes, a >
<"streak" of "bad luck" whopped me upside my very hard Irish ?
=noggin. Due to a previous chopper accident, I had developed <
:spondylolisthesis of my lower lumbar region. It honestly >
<didn't affect ANYTHING I did, but the Army in it's infinate =
;wisdom, decided that I would be better off as a civilian. 7
5Why ask my opinion? So here I was with a piddly 10% <
:disability rating, missing my retirement eligibility by 4 8
6years, and a family to care for. NO PROB, I say. YES <
:PROB....The wife decides she (notice I said she) couldn't >
<hack the relinquishing of the social title "Mrs. CW2 Hogan" ;
9and split to Olympia with the kids (be near mommy/daddy) .
while I was gone for a few days job hunting.
: To make a long story semi-short, I packed up what was 1
left and moved to Beverly. Er Colorado Springs.
9 So here I am....I truly think I've found an extended =
;family here on-line....To all who I've bantered, conversed ;
and laughed with, here's a hearty thank you....I mean it.
